If your virtual database (VDB) is in an unknown state, something might have happened on an Environment and the quickest fix is to refresh the Environment (Go to Manage > Environment > Refresh (green/blue icon) ).
You should also check all the faults on the VDB as that might also give you a tip as to what is going on.
