    Delphix Customers,

Beginning with our next major release of Delphix (6.0) slated for the end of 2019, the following software features will enter End of Life (EOL) per the Delphix Product Life Cycle Policy. Upon upgrade to 6.0 or a subsequent release, these features will no longer be available. Delphix will remove features from our product when an external vendor removes support (for example, support for an old database) or when we see low utilization of a particular feature.

The current Delphix Engine release, version 5.3, will be the last version to support these features. Current customers may continue to use these software products with Delphix 5.3 and may continue to renew or purchase additional licenses through the supported lifecycle.

    Virtualization

    • AIX 6.1 Technology Levels 0-6 and AIX 7.1 Technology Levels 0-2 for Environments: This will affect Oracle, ASE and DB2 databases. These operating system versions have long been unsupported by IBM.
    • Windows Server 2008 for Environments: This will affect SQL Server databases. Microsoft will end support for Windows Server 2008 in January 2020.
    • Unix-to-Linux Oracle Provisioning: As the large majority of our customers have completed their move from Unix to Linux, there is relatively little utilization.

If these features are in use, the upgrade to 6.0 will not proceed.

    Masking

The following masking features are being removed as they are either largely unused or the third party vendors have ceased support for the platforms.

    • XML CLOB masking
    • Microsoft Excel Masking
    • Db2 9.1, 9.5, and other 9.x versions of LUW & Z/OS
    • "Create target" job option
    • "Bulk data" job option
Note: Excel files can still be masked by first converting them to one of Delphix's supported file types, for example, CSV. Also, XML CLOBs can be masked by extracting value, for example, using extractValue in Oracle, and inserting them into a table.

    Upon upgrade:

    • Jobs using "create target" will be removed.
    • Jobs using "bulk data" will be turned into non-bulk data jobs
    • Columns masked as XML CLOBs will have the NULL SL algorithm assigned.
    • MS Excel connectors, rulesets and jobs will be removed.

    Support Policy

The Delphix Product Lifecycle policy remains in effect for support of older versions.

    Sincerely,
    Delphix Support
