Featured Updates
Oracle TDE vPDBs in Multitenant RAC
The Delphix DevOps Data Platform now supports deployment of Oracle vPDBs with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) to a target Oracle Multi-Tenant Real Application Cluster (RAC) environment with NFSv3. This allows teams to leverage core Delphix features like snapshot, deploy, rewind, and refresh while also running tighter security controls around their data.
SAP HANA Staging Push
Teams Using SAP HANA can now configure data to be pushed into Delphix instead of pulled during a polling interval from production. This simplifies data ingestion into Delphix making it significantly easier to integrate with the many existing HANA-certified backup solutions.
Other Updates
OAuth 2.0 Updates
Delphix DevOps Data Platform 6.0.12 adds an OAuth 2.0 user interface for easier configuration, enables token CLI access, and now supports proxies. These improvements help teams strengthen their organization's security by enabling alternatives to usernames and passwords for API authentication.
Masking Updates
The latest release includes several improvements to Delphix Masking including improved job failure troubleshooting, improved UI stability, improved display accuracy for job times, and the option to collect per-job logs. In addition, secure lookup has been improved, and character mapping is now available for tokenization & re-identification jobs. The Free Text Redaction algorithm has also been updated, delivering improved performance, algorithm chaining, and granular control with redaction of words rather than phrases.
Multiple Storage Device Removal
Teams can now quickly remove multiple storage devices at once from the virtualization engine instead of one-by-one. This makes it easier for IT Operations teams to manage storage migrations or to quickly manage over-provisioned storage situations.
Log4j Code Review
Our team has completed code review of the Delphix DevOps Data Platform and have found that it is not susceptible to the Log4J vulnerability including CVE-2021-44228, CVE-2021-45046, CVE-2021-45105, CVE-2019-17571, and CVE-2021-4104. However, we have upgraded all library versions of Log4j to 2.17.1. If your organization still has Delphix Reporting (Mission Control) deployed, we recommend working with your Customer Success Manager on migrating to Data Control Tower (DCT) since a vulnerable version of the Log4j was used in the EOL'd product.
Certifications
The latest release now has certified compatibility to Oracle Virtualization on SLS 15 SP3, Virtualization on RHEL 8.4, and SQL Server Virtualization on Windows Server 2022.
Deprecations & EOL
The 6.0.12 release removes support for Oracle 10g, Internet Explorer, Oracle EBS 12.1 plugin (3.0.0), and SAP HANA 1.0 Plugin (1.1.2). Oracle 11.1 and 12.1 support are both now deprecated with an EOL planned for the later half of 2022.
