Same engine version - but the jdk version in tool kit appears to be different - am I missing something? Delphix Engine 01 - 5.0.3.1 - java version "1.6.0_101" Delphix Engine 02 - 5.0.3.1 - java version "1.7.0_85"

    Hi Srinivasan-

Thank you for posting this interesting question.

The Delphix engine pushes out a toolkit to target machines. The jdk version that Delphix pushes varies based upon certain parameters on the destination system.

In the instance that you describe, with the two machines with different jdk versions, what are their operating system versions? Just to clarify the question, are there two engines, or are there two targets with the same engine?

I have been discussing this question with others here, and we would also like to know if there is a failure, or other difficulty that leads you to ask about jdk versions? The jdks in the Delphix toolkits are for the exclusive use of Delphix. You should not use these jdks for anything besides Delphix operations.

    Thank you for your time,

David, * Its 2 different engines of same version * OS version - Delphix Engine 01 - 5.0.3.1 - java version "1.6.0_101" - SunOS 5.10 Generic_150400-28 sun4v sparc sun4v - Delphix Engine 02 - 5.0.3.1 - java version "1.7.0_85" - SunOS 5.11 11.2 sun4v sparc sun4v * We are not using the jdk from Delphix engines for any purpose - our company policy insist on jdk 1.7.0_95 or above only

    Hi Srinivasan-

It looks like the destinations really are different, and that the Delphix Engines pushed out different JREs to those environments. I can see that one of the engines is on SunOS 5.10, and the other is on SunOS 5.11

David, is there any possible way to make sure JRE pushed is greater than a specific version? I assume that I might have any control on that - but wanted to make sure before I go ahead and fill out paper work (as per our compnay policy) saying it not possible to update the JRE.
