    Hi Danny,
Delphix delivers Virtual Databases to a Delphix managed NFS, dNFS or ISCSI mount point on the target server.  There is no NFS/ISCSI requirement between the source machine and the Delphix Dynamic Data Platform node (Engine). The data on the staging server would be mounted on NFS or ISCSI also (depending on database type).

    Hi Danny,

The only reason one might use NFS on the source machine is for the scenario I described yesterday where you are making the ASE database dumps available to the ASE backup server running on the staging server. As I mentioned, this is just one technique of making the dumps available to the staging server.

There are various security measures that can be taken to limit access to NFS shares. For example, the source host can share the NFS directory to a particular host so that no other hosts on the network have access to it.

    Thanks,
      Neal
