    Posted 05-28-2015 07:02:00 AM
    Good day.

We are using delphix_demo with Standby in RealTime Apply.
All archivelogs are in place for 48 hours.
    Why LogSync cannot grab them?

    See screenshot.

Maybe this is due to the time zone?

    Hello,

From screen shot you provided I assume that you have a problem with SnapSync.
If dSource is connected to Standby database please check Delphix documentation what configuration is supported.

    https://docs.delphix.com/display/DOCS42/Linking+Oracle+Physical+Standby+Databases

By default SCN backup is used so you need to stop log apply and open database in read only mode.
Please check example script in documentation.

If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.

    regards,
    Marcin

    Hello, Marcin.

"Both Oracle bug 10146187 and 13075226 are fixed starting from Oracle 11.2.0.4. There is no need to configure stop and restart of Redo Apply or disable BCT if the Physical Standby Database is at version 11.2.0.4 or above."

Is LogSync enabled for this dSource? Does LogSync say ACTIVE on your dSource card? I see the snapshot cards, but that is a result of SnapSync, not LogSync. Flip the card over on the dSource, and set Logsync to Enabled.

Do any of the faults pertain information about failed LogSyncs?

    btw,

    "May 28, 2015 1:25 PM" - wrong time. (Moscow TZ = 03, not 04)

    Must be "May 28, 2015 12:25 PM"

How big is the archivelog size? How quickly are the logs switching?

    Su,

I'm not fully clear on why the archived redo log files were not captured by either the LogSync or SnapSync services, but I'm investigating on a customer account.

Regardless, it is a something to be resolved.  Please note from your very first screenshot in this forum thread showing the database card and fault?  Please note that there are two little icons on the card to the right of the words "Missing Archive Logs"?  One looks like the lower-case letter "i" in a blue circle (a.k.a. more information), the other looks (to me at least) like a screw-driver with wings (your eyesight may be better and interpretation may be different :-) )?

Those icons relate to the "Log Repair Tool", specifically the little flying screwdriver thingie.  You can click on that and see if it is of some use, following the documentation found online here and in the child page here.

Personally, I'm a command-line sort of person, so I prefer to use the Delphix CLI version of the "Log Repair Tool".  To access that, connect via SSH into the "delphix_admin" account (or any administrator account) into the Delphix Engine VM, then execute the following command...

        /timeflow oracle log list database=<db-name> missing=true

...where the "<db-name>" is the name of the dSource in question (i.e. "cftbank_from_Standby").

There is more information on using both "Log Repair Tools" in the online documentation both here and here.

    Hope this helps...

    Thanks!
