provisioning masked vdb, what db connection string will be used?

    I'm reading about provisioning masked vdb https://docs.delphix.com/display/DOCS50/Provisioning+Masked+VDBs

    I'm wondering if, while provisioning a new vDB, the ruleset still uses the connection defined in the ruleset definition or the connection string will be substituted dynamically based on the VDB SID and target host we are provisioning to.

    Please, tell me, if I wasn't able to ask clearly my question. I'll retry to ask using other words.

    You are correct in your guess!

    At the time of masking Delphix will generate a new connection string that is created specifically for the VDB. (And again, you are correct. This includes substituting the SID and host for Oracle. For other data platforms other things are substituted).
