    Hi All,

I have a problem registering dSource from a source DB which uses SJIS (Shift JIS, Shift Japanese Industrial Standards) character set.

    SJIS:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shift_JIS

I can register a dSource with an Oracle character set, AL32UTF8, however, when I try to register a dSource with other character sets, such as JA32SJISTILDE or JA32SJIS, I get errors.

Is there any limitation on the character sets Delphix supports?

    Thanks,
    Yasu

Hi Yasu, thank you for your inquiry. We will look into these specific character sets and get back to you on this topic. Would you please post the error that you received when linking the source database?

    Srini,

    Sorry to bother you.

We can register dSource with UTF8 (AL32UTF8).

However, we cannot register dSource with the following character sets:

      UTF8 (AL32UTF8) DB UTF18
      SJIS (JA16SJISTILDE) DB SJIS
      SJIS (JA16SJIS) DB SJIS1

So, the problem might note be related to character sets....

    Hi Yasu,
This issue may be caused by the database that we are trying to link to does not have any archive logs.
Please do an alter system switch logfile a couple times and then try to do a snapsync again.
Let us know if you have any questions.
    Cheers,
    Dave G.
