    Hi All,

Is there any way to refresh VDBs automatically whenever the source DBs are updated, without manually refreshing VDBs with selecting dSources and SCN / timestamp?

    Thank you,
    Yasu

    Hi Yasu,
Once a VDB is provisioned, we can use the GUI going to Manage - Policies and create a VDB Refresh policy to refresh the VDB once a day or other using either the latest snapshot or latest timeflow logs.
For faster refreshes I would suggest using the latest snapshot.
    I hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Dave G.

    Hi David,

as I can see, with the admin console you cannot:
    • refresh a vDB on demand (only with a scheduled policy)
    • refresh a vDB from an arbitrary point in a timeflow of the source.
If I need those point above, I need to have the JetStream, don't I ?

    Regards.

Sure you can Gianpiero. Click on the VDB and flip the card over. The refresh button is along the bottom.

Thank you Adam. And, without jestream, how could I restore my VDB from any point in the past (within the retention time, of course) of the timeflow of the source?

P.S. today I received Delphix gadgets! Great! I feel so cuddled. Thank you to all staff.

    Regards.

You will have the option on this card to undo the last refresh or rewind, but for full "forward and backward" data timeline capabilities, you would want to leverage the power of JetStream.

Glad you like the stuff! We love our community!
