Hi Everyone,

We are pleased to announce the availability of Delphix Dynamic Data Platform version 5.3.3.

This latest release reaffirms our commitment to empowering your teams to leverage your SAML 2.0 SSO solutions to manage your Delphix solution and also having a unified platform setup experience whether it starts with addressing data security or accelerating innovation.

Two significant capabilities introduced in 5.3.3 are:

  1. SAML2-based Single Sign-on
Delphix platform now supports SAML2-based Single Sign-on (SSO) authentication. SSO enables you to access the Delphix Platform from one location, authenticated with your SSO vendor like Okta or OneLogin which has a single username/password.

  2. Unified Virtualization and Masking Setup Wizard
Delphix setup wizard, starting 5.3.3, will provide you the option to configure Delphix engine for virtualization or masking. This capability eliminates the separate CLI setup process for masking. It re-emphasizes Delphix point of view that enterprises require both data security and acceleration to succeed in their markets.

For more details and a complete list of features and fixes, please see the release notes. If you have questions about Delphix Dynamic Data Platform 5.3.3, feel free to post questions here on the community site, and review our knowledge base on the support site. To upgrade, please file a support ticket at when you are ready.

Hi Michael,

Great news, but have some remarks regarding Unified Virtualization and Masking Setup Wizard feature.

In my point of view separating the engines is great for large companies and deployments, but it isn't the case for small once or for training, demo engines.

The documentation indicates that you have only two possible options either Virtualization or Masking why not to add a third one both, especially for small deployments and backward compatibility with older versions.

Hi Mouhssin,

Delphix does not support the Virtualization & Masking service being actively used on the same engine. The main reason for this is that each service will then compete for resources and cause issues.

That being said, one thing to note is that when you choose the engine type in the Setup Wizard it does not actually prevent you from accessing the other service. For example, if you pick Masking as the engine type, you can still log in to the Virtualization service and use it. For testing/demo engines using both services most likely will not cause issues but Delphix is not designing the services to both run actively (meaningful usage) on the same engine.

Hi Alexandros,

Thanks for your feedback.

I’m aware of the fact you’ve explained and was asking for separation 2 years ago for resources compete issue ;).

But mean idea was mainly regarding certification and support, in case of training, demo or small deployments if we use both and the engine type is flagged either as masking or virtualization.

Can end customer still be covered in case of issue on those engines ?

Hope you’ve got the point
