I'm trying to use the landshark environment to learn the tool but I can't add the XEXE Source database as dSource.

After I've filled all the information and try to add it shows this message:

Error:Environment user "delphix" cannot log on to database "XEXE" as SYSDBA.

I'm using the default passwords that has been provided.

Felipe, you don't have to add the database, the setup should do that for you automatically. Just reboot the LinuxTarget, and it will add the dSource when it see it is missing. The dSource needs to be added as the oracle user, and this is handled automatically, per the video.

Unfortunately for me they don't show automatically. So I can't use them.

Felipe, I suggest you start again at the beginning. Check to ensure your linux VM's have IP's, the delphix_admin password is set correctly, you reboot the LinuxTarget. If the items aren't added automatically , then the setup isn't correct. Manually adding the items will not assist you because you would be adding them in an incorrect configuration.

All the VMs have network working correctly I can ping between them. What delphix_admin password should I use? I'm using one that I have put when I first logged to the delphix_engine.

per the video, the password should be set to "landshark" ease follow the instructions in this video: https://vimeo.com/channels/landshark/113624718

I did what the video say and I wasn't able to see anything yet I changed the password for landshark I've even changed the network from 10.0.0.0 to 192.168.2.0
Any other ideas on what is going on?

Can you post the last 50 lines of the /home/delphix/landshark_setup.log from the Linux Target please?

What is the IP address of your Landshark Engine? The Linux Target sees the Linux Source, but not the Landshark Engine.

That is the landshark enginge 192.168.2.1, Target 192.168.2.3 and Source 192.168.2.2
Those are the IPs for the environment.

Ummmm, wouldn't 192.168.2.1 be the default gateway for that environment? I think you have IP collision issues. If you set that IP for the Engine, change it to something like 192.168.2.4. The target and source IP's are fine.

No, actually you are getting a different message. It appears that you renamed your Engine "delphixeng", which is the incorrect value. The default and correct value is "LandsharkEngine." Are you using the LandsharkEngine ova or a standard Delphix engine ova?

Ok, I've changed the hostname to "landsharkengine" and I see some information to be populated but I don't see any dbsource added.

I've tried to refresh the environment to see if that added something but there's nothing.

Restart the Linux Target

I've restarted the Linux Target and waited like ten mins to something to show, after that I've refreshed the environments and then a full restart of all the vms. Still nothing here is what I see at the Source D.B. window.

That screen looks ok. What is on your databases screen? What is the last 50 lines from your landshark_setup.log?

After the reboot and some waiting I see finally some databases.

It looks like everything is complete now, Felipe. The issues were that the Engine was addressed and named incorrectly. Once those two items were addressed, the process was able to complete successfully.
