I am looking for a document to create Virtual PeopleSoft environment using Delphix. We have more than 10 PeopleSoft environments and would like to take advantage of creating Virtual PS applications using Delphix. Has anyone done it?

    Hello Kalvay,

We can virtualize the Database using our standard Oracle procedure and for the binaries we can use Unstructured Files. We will basically virtualize the folder that contains all the binaries and then provision it to your target server. There are some considerations to take into account like delphix_os user must be in the same group than PeopleSoft binaries owner, etc...
We don't have this process fully documented yet as it's a particular case of binary+db virtualization. I will try to document it fully the next time we do it.

    Thanks

Like Diego mentioned it, the traditional Delphix Virtualization for structured (Database) and unstructured (Binaries) would provide by itself great advantages for deploying your Oracle EBS Suite (formerly PS) products (CRM/HCM/Financials, etc), though the next Delphix release (aka Hyperion 5.0) will be capable to virtualize entire EBS environments, starting from Binaries dbStack tier, Database Tier, and finally Apps Stack Tier, running both Oracle Single Instance and Real Application Clusters, from Multi/Single node to Multi/Single node architectures. Hyperion is still in Beta testing though it will be available to the public soon.

Please allow me to make a correction: Oracle PS and EBS are two products under the same umbrella, but different pillars. In other words, though they share the same Application stack, PS and EBS sell separately. Their platforms are different so Delphix would treat a PS environment in the traditional way as Diego explained in his initial post. Sorry for the confusion!
