There is mention of having 3 VMDKs in the install notes here (http://docs.delphix.com/display/DOCS40/Virtual+Machine+Requirements">http://docs.delphix.com/display/DOCS40/Virtual+Machine+Requirements">http://docs.delphix.com/display/DOCS40/Virtual+Machine+Requirements), but no information on sizing guidelines.  I remember reading somewhere that Delphix compresses the source data a lot, but can't find any guide on how big the database storage needs to be.

I realise that the size is dependent on the number of VDBs, and rate of change in them, as well as the defined retention periods, however is there a minimum sizing that Delphix recommend (as a random example - twice the source DB size)?

There are a lot of factors that go into sizing. The good news is that we are MORE than glad to give you sizing recommendations and to help you out. We have a few statistics gathering scripts we'll have you run, and then we use that information to do some calculations. If you don't know who you should contact at Delphix, feel free to shoot me an email and I will be glad to get you hooked up with the right person adam.bowenATdelphix.com
