    Hi
We have some DBs on a server which we have added as a new source which are not showing up...these DBs are in a SQL always on availability group....is this supported in delphix yet?  if not, when would it be?  as these are some of our main VDBs in delphix (we are migrating to SQL2016 and using always on in our live environment)

    Hi

    Ive just seen this
    https://community.delphix.com/delphix/topics/delphix-with-sql-2014-avaialbility-groups

Although we are not using a listener....can we still set up the server in delphix and provision the always on DBs?

I try and create as a cluster and I get

Failed to discover cluster address for cluster environment "LON-CLUS-xxxx" using address "LON-CLUS-xxxx".

Ok, read up a bit now...noticed that clusters are only for targets and for any Always On DBs, looks like we MUST have a listener set up...please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Hey Mark,

Correct. If you're adding an Availability Group cluster, a Listener is required. And AG clusters are only supported as a Source (you'd add it as a clustered source using the cluster name or IP).

Ok, read up a bit more after some searching!

So it looks like I need to add the WINDOWS cluster name not the SQL cluster name...I'll try that tomorrow once the ports are opened up for the windows cluster.

FYI, I want to add a DB as a source which is part of an availability group...but I don't need the functions of AAG (we are using it to provide read only reporting copies) so we never fail over....we were not planning to have a listener at this point in time...so if we can set up in delphix without the listener, that would be good....

    Hi
I'm getting this error when trying to add the WINDOWS Cluster

    Create environment "LON-WCLUS-DB01".
Failed to discover cluster address for cluster environment "LON-WCLUS-DB01" using address "LON-WCLUS-DB01.cityindex.co.uk".
Make sure the given address is resolvable and reachable and try the operation again.

I can however, add the windows cluster as a standalone...

    Hey Mark,

Is that address ping-able? Also, from the Staging SQL host, can you ping the cluster's name and IP? And if SSMS is installed on the staging host, can you remotely connect to the clustered SQL instance?

    Hi

It was because I didn't have reverse DNS set up as per article
    https://support.delphix.com/hc/en-us/articles/230879848

Network team are going to set that up and then I should be fine!  thanks for the help
