I'm trying to add an Oracle database 12c dSource but it's failing. Not sure where the logs are located. Here's the message.

Error:ENVIRONMENT_CREATE job for "OTN DB DEV" failed due to an internal error during execution.

Error Code:
exception.job.execute.internal

Suggested Action:
Contact Delphix Support.

I think I found my answer. According to hostchecker the answer is no.

Please enter Delphix DB user for instance "orcl": c##delphixPlease enter password for DB user "c##delphix":
Unable to login to database instance "orcl" as "c##delphix". Please
make sure you enter the correct database credentials.
If the database is mounted only, please use SYS to connect to the database.
Please enter Delphix DB user for instance "orcl": sys
Please enter password for DB user "sys":
grep: /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0/dbhome_1/inventory/ContentsXML/comps.xml: No such file or directory
Step 1: Delphix does not support Oracle version .
Can't find label SKIP_SID at ./chkHost.pl line 832, <STDIN> line 6.

Hi Leighton,

Delphix supports 12c.  Check out the video at the end of this blog post http://datavirtualizer.com/12c-pdbs-delphix-like-chocolate-peanut-butter/. What version of Oracle 12c and what platform OS version?

Hi Leighton,

I downloaded and installed the the Oracle VM  and reproduced the problem. On that version or Linux there is a missing library. Try the following as root

      yum install glibc.i686

and then add the Linux box environment to Delphix.

also the Oracle installation on that Oracle VM has no inventory, i.e. record of installation, and Delphix looks for that. To work around this  create the following directory:

/home/oracle/app/oracle/product/12.1.0/dbhome_1/inventory/ContentsXML

and at the file

comps.xml

with contents  (no blank lines)

<?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes" ?>

The missing glibc.i686 install will get a more user friendly message in version 4.2 which is just released this week ( bug  DLPX-20276 )

Thanks for picking this up, Kyle. Leighton, let me know if this helps you. I will incorporate these items into the next release of Landshark.
