Generic query : Can we connect a application to more than one data base.

Requirement here  : 

1) we have an legacy application

2) have corresponding physical database.

3) Now Legacy Team is suggesting not to remove the physical database ,

4) and we want to connect to Vdb.  so that we can implement the features of delphix

so can we have a solution that we can have both the database. ?

So that the Legacy db still persists and we have Vdb with delphix features.?

 

From a Delphix perspective, delphix does not care that you have physical and virtual databases in your environment.

But you still have to account for all of the normal issues as if you were using two physical databases. For example:

How would your application connect to two databases?
How would you name the two databases to avoid conflicts?
etc.

If you could do this with two physical databases, then you should be able to do it with one physical and one virtual as well.
