I want to see what VDBs are unused or rarely used. Is there a way I can get Delphix to display usage statistics?

    Hi Thom,

You may find the Dashboard view useful. You can access the Dashboard through the Resources menu on your Delphix Admin application. The Dashboard contains several panels with detailed performance information. One panel you may find useful is Performance Management, which shows VDB network usage. You can use this information to determine how frequently your VDBs are being used.

You can find more information on the Dashboard at our help article "An Overview of Capacity and Performance Information". I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions or issues.

    Thanks,

    Srish

If your question is more about actual RDBMS level usage such as whether users are logging and and actively working with a specific VDB, then the answer is no.

Since the Delphix Engine is a storage appliance, as Srish says, we store and can display a lot of information about storage utilisation in the Dashboard (and also in the Capacity Management screen). However, to find out how often users are logging into a particular VDB you need to use whatever admin tools you normally would for that RDBMS (be it MSSQL, Oracle, ASE admin tools, queries, and commands).
