  • 1.  how to see used storage while replication is in progress

    Hi all,

in our environment we are replicating a huge volume VDB Snapshot from one engine to a remote engine. The eximated time to complete the entire process is about 24h long (one full day long). While the process is running we'd like to see how many storage has been used in the target engine. Unfortunately the Resource > Capacity section didn't help us: we can see all created local object but the data we are receiving in the replication process. How to see the amount data transferred until now? How to monitor the remaining available space on the storage of the target engine?

In the sysadmin's CLI, under storage section, we are able to list all disks that are part of the total storage of the target engine. We can select each disk and get the current used space. After a long ripetitive work (on tens disks) we was able to sum all used space to calculate the remaining free storage.

There is any function/feature/tool that I'm missing to use?

    Thank you.

To ensure that replication isn't running the Delphix virtualization engine out of storage overall, go to Manage > Dashboard, where the total amounts of used and free storage are displayed.

For the details on the space consumed by the replicated namespace, similar to the detail shown in Resource > Capacity, the Delphix graphical user interface (GUI) doesn't have that, and I cannot find anything with that detail in the command-line interface (CLI) either.

    Hope this helps...

Hi Tim, in the 5.0.4.0 version I can see in the Resources > Capacity a "space not yeld" group, into it I can see the space consumed while replication is in progress. So, it was not clear, but one can get the information under a temporary name in the Resources capacity section og the GUI admin.
    Thank you.
