Deepanshu,

A VDB can be created from another VDB.  First register the target Oracle RAC cluster as an "environment" as documented online here, and then provision an Oracle RAC VDB (as documented online here) from the non-RAC VDB as a source.

Hope this helps!

Hello Tim,

That's one way. But for this  i have to keep the standalone database as that will be the parent for the RAC database. Is there a way with which we can totally remove dependency from the standalone, As the RAC has to be created with same unique and DB name because it will be replacing the Standalone.

Is there any other workaround for this?

Deepanshu,

There are very few practical dependencies between a VDB and its source.  They are completely independent of one another, and the only practical dependency is if you wish to refresh the VDB which, of course, can only be done from its source (i.e. the non-RAC VDB).  But if you create a VDB with no intention of refreshing after creation, then it has no dependencies.

Hope this helps.
