    Hi
is it possible to link partial physical database (i.e. only selected 5 or 10 tables) to dSource in Delphix?
    If possible please explain.
    Thanks.

    Hello Manish,
Delphix links the full physical database, as dSource.

Is there any particular reason, you want to link partial database?

If the concern is about storage, Delphix engine will dedupe and compress the dSource very efficiently, as compared to physical database size.

    Thanks

    Hello Jatinder

In my Physical Databases nearly 1000 tables are there but i need only 3 or 5 tables to virtualize.
If i Virtualize 1000 tables it will take more memory(as compared to 3 or 5 Tables).

So there is any other way to do this.

    Thanks

    Hi Manish,

Delphix isn't a product for virtualizing tables, you have to understand that it's using standard database API's to link (source) a database (eg : rman in case of oracle). As of this rman takes a full copy of the source database so all tables/schemas and so.

As Jatinder stated delphix has an inteliegent filesystem that takes care of (compressing and deduplicating) what it will host (generally the ratio is between 60%-90%), this should answer your storage constraint and keep in mind that delphix reuse blocks instead of deplecating theme.
