I am new to masking and need to find a way to mask both FQDNs and short server names. These are in the same table and are mixed case. I don't see any delivered algorithms that would work. Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Michael,
FQDN and server names can be masked a number of ways depending on what type of outcome is needed.
Common way is
1) Create a Secure Lookup Algorithm, use a standard text file and enter values which you need as result e.g.

youhostname1.domain1.com
yourhostname2.domain2.com
publicDNS.windows.net

and upload it to the UI which crating Algorithm.

2) Create a Segmented Mapping Algorithm with multiple alphanumeric segments ignoring period(.), this will generate unique results each time which will be non-resolvable. combined segment length needs to be as wide as the longest value in column.

The Algorithm(s) will function the same way across any data source. 1) Secure Lookup is preferred.
