Prevent Oracle VDB from being registered in OEM

Is there an easy way to prevent a virtual database from being registered in Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)? By default, the vdbs created on a cluster that has OEM set up  will also be registered in OEM.

Is there some kind of init parameter or other type of delphix-related setting we can use to control this behavior?

Thanks.

Hi Avindra,

Depending on the version of OEM, you can change the schedule of Auto Discovery Job that does the registration of DB/Listener etc. The below Metalink Note provides more details

How to change the Auto Discovery Frequency for the Host in EM 12c (Doc ID 1527573.1).

One can also check emcli command to delete targets.

thanks

Avindra,

Are you trying to prevent discovery of the VDB, or are you trying to prevent active monitoring of the VDB?  My understanding is that discovering a database is not the same thing as "promoting" the database to be an OEM "target".  Promoting something auto-discovered by OEM into a monitored OEM target requires manual action.  This is true in EM12c, and I believe this was true for EM11g and EM10g as well.

As Ganesh indicated earlier, you can also remove incorrectly promoted targets using the EM CLI (EM command-line interface - online documentation here) using the "delete_target" command.  The EMCLI (like all CLI's) allow you rapidly generate scripts to perform mass operations by dumping information to a file which can then edit to create a script.

Hope this helps...
