Start & Stop VDb via API

Hi All,

I tried to run the API call under to start & shut the VDb

Note: have changed the URL for the engine as per my project

The log gave me a message API session is not established. Please advice

This means that you didn’t get a cookie session, did you set you engine ip as DE var in script and also set VDB var to conform your environment



Hi Mouhssine,

yes have set the DE and VDb value.

I started my script as ./<Script_Name> start, but it is not giving any log now.

Hi Anusha,

API calls require an authenticated session, the page you linked to shows this, in that there are a series of calls to curl:

1. Create session.
2. Authenticate.
3. Run command or commands.

Are you running all 3 above steps, or just trying the Start/Stop command on it's own?


I used h script under, which has all the above three. But still not able to get through

got this error while testing the authentication
