    Hi All,

Assuming the size of the source DB is 2TB, generally how much storage capacity will you need for the system data and VDBs?

    Thank you,
    Yasu

Yasu, this answer to this question depends on a lot of variables, such as the kind of data in the DB, the number of VDBs, how much change will be introduced in the VDBs and how long the retention period for each Timeflow will be.  All that being said, if you allocate 2TB of storage to Delphix, you should generally be able to create ~10 VDBs with a reasonable amount of change.

    Hi Yasu,

To give you last example I met  recently:
With a 3 TB Aix Oracle 11.2.0.3 dsource database, the dsource ratio was 2.8:1 (so 1.04Tb for the dsource), a totally new VDB required 74Mb more and after running a 7 hours batch process updating that VDB, this VDB was using 20 Gb.

    Best Regards,
    Marie
