  • 1.  Unable to Add previously configured Environment

I had an unix environment previously configured to one Delphix Engine.

I removed the environment from one DE and try to add the same to another DE, but i am getting the error message as below:

ErrorCannot get host machine information on host ip-XX-YY-ZZ-AA [ip-XX-YY-ZZ-AA]: CANONICAL_TIME_ZONE :: Could not get the Canonical Time Zone

    Error Code
    exception.dhm.host.info.failed

    Suggested Action
Verify the host is running and Delphix Engine can connect to it.

The host is up and running and i am able to ssh to the new DE from the host. The host is an AWS EC2 machine- Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.4 (Tikanga)

Please advise what would be the problem

The problem is that the machine doesn't have Java installed. Did someone uninstall java from the RH server after it was added to the last Delphix Engine? Otherwise, I am not quite sure how it was ever added to the last Delphix engine.  Do a 'sudo yum install -y java' on the linux server and then add the environment to the Delphix Engine. That should resolve the issue.

Is Java a new requirement for Delphix?

I also don't see this documented anywhere. Can you please provide a link to documentation stating the java requirement?
