I use virtualbox to import a Delphix Express 4.3.3.0 for VirtualBox.ova. Once all settings done, the sysadmin is able to log in, except the delphix_admin with default passsword. It keeps showing Invalid username or password.

Ensure you are still not in the server setup window. If you have a gear icon on your background, you are on the wrong screen. Ensure you are on the Delphix Admin screen and you are using delphix as the default password.

If you are using trail version, try with landshark, as it is default password for delphix_admin

Hello Bundit,
                   Delphix Engine has two separate  login GUI, one for sysadmin and one for delphix. I guess you might be putting delphix_admin credentials in sysadmin login page.

Could you please make sure, on page, it is showing as Delphix Engine and not Delphix setup?

Hey Amit,  landshark is not the default password. landshark is what you set the password to during the quick install instructions. 

yes agree Adam, but I believe in the instructions that's what password mention while installation. and people usually do copy paste and then forget what pwd they put. Atleast same happened to me and I was running in same issue which Bundit has now.

I would check the configuration file that is used for this login.  You'll need the ip address for the target machine.  If you don't have it- Go to the TARGET machine, login with delphix/delphix, (unless you changed it, then use the new password) and open up a terminal window.  Type in "ifconfig" and get the ip address.
Now on your desktop, open a web browser and type in the ip address:8000

This will open a configuration file.  You'll note the engine username and password.  Make sure they match what you  are putting in.  If you want to update it, you can in the section provided, click on Submit Changes and then proceed.

1. From Kellyn's guidance, I check my linuxtarget, the password of delphix_admin showing on browser is landshark. However the delphix engine login keeps denying my username or password that I've entered. 


2. From Jatinder's suggestion, I do submit the username on correct screen, but only delphix_admin is still invalid.
  - I use sysadmin as username on this link http://<ip>/login/index.html#serverSetup
  - I use delphix_admin as username on this link http://<ip>/login/index.html  or http://<ip>/login/index.html#delphixAdmin

3. The delphix engine console has been up and running.  Also, the sysadmin summary is as folowing screen below.

Bundit, if you are still completing the Quick Install instructions (step 16), and have yet to set the password, then the default password is "delphix" all lowercase, with no quotes. 

I have clarified the documentation:
Once the initial setup is complete, login to the admin portal as delphix_admin, password delphix. Change the password to "landshark" (no quotes, all lowercase). 

I also have a "feeling" that your configuration for the install isn't complete.  When I first went through the Delphix Express installation, I assumed I could just start everything and not read any instructions, (as many times we techies do... :))  Due to this, the first import of the VMs didn't configure correctly and mine was half configured.  Please try out Adam's recommendation and see if "delphix" in the password field solves the problem and if not, update the password in the configuration file and "submit changes" then try again.  I had some fun importing and forcibly breaking and then re-importing to get familiar with the Express edition, (that's just how I roll... :)) and I ran into this on one of my messy builds of it.

I did change (submit changes) a linuxtarget configuration file, but it doesn't help, until using initial password "delphix" that'd solve my issue.
