I'm looking at using Delphix for protecting my sources.  What kind of RPO can I get?

    Johnston,

    Thanks for using Community forum.

With Oracle, Delphix can collect changes & keep in sync with your Source database through following 2 options which in turn would dictate your RPO :

    Archive Logs -

Delphix would start secure copy of the Source Archive logs once it's generated (typically < 1 minute). So the delta would be Time to copy Archive logs to Delphix + Time to Apply, which is usually quick. So, in general RPO with Archive logs option would be normally 1 archive log behind your Source.

Redo Logs + Archive Logs -

Delphix would collect the changes as soon as they are committed in Redo Logs and would use Archive logs only if the changes are flushed from Redo Logs to Archive logs before Delphix can capture all the changes. In this option, Delphix would be pretty much in sync with Source and RPO would be the time to transfer and apply the changes to Delphix (typically few seconds depending on Network characteristics between Source & Delphix).

Overall, depending on the selection, you can expect RPO to be within few seconds (min) to few minutes(Max).

    Hope this helps.
