    In our current configuration for /etc/oratab we have both DB name and Instance name listed in the file.  For standards, we are looking to remove the DB name leaving only the instance name.  The question is, will this impact Delphix ability to connect to the DB.  For instance ...

    /etc/oratab

    DatabaseA   (DB Name - Will be Removed)

    DatabaseA1 (Will remain)

    Target VDB Config

    Unique Name = DatabaseA

    Name = DatabaseA

    SID = DatabaseA1

    It should not, AFAIK we don't rely on the oratab file at all when it comes to managing VDBs.
    It may impact any hooks or external scripts that you may have developed based on the contents of the oratab file, you should review those.
