This update covers new offerings, features, and functionality changes delivered in November 2024.
-
DCT Core – Delphix has introduced 3 license tiers for DCT – Core, Self Service and Enterprise. All Delphix customers with active Continuous Data and/or Continuous Compliance licenses now gain access to DCT Core, offering foundational capabilities enabling you to quickly centralize and automate your data operations.
-
Terraform Provider Drift Detection - Introduced the ability to modify virtual database (VDB) resources created through the Terraform provider. This enables drift detection of your data sets. In addition, we released the "import" capability as a beta feature to enable VDBs created outside to be managed via Terraform.
-
File Connector Enhancements - Parameters such as writer type, spark configuration settings, and max worker threads for each Hyperscale file connector job can now be configured without restarting your containers. You also can now apply different settings in parallel because variables are job and not container specific. See Kubernetes and OpenShift documentation to configure the source and target connector types.
-
SQL Server Availability Group - You can now provision virtual databases within a SQL Server Availability Group configuration on your target environment. This support enables the automation of SQL Server VDB provisioning directly into Availability Groups, streamlining deployment processes. Additionally, customers will enjoy substantial storage savings, as all nodes within the Availability Group are stored in Delphix Continuous Data's efficient storage. This feature is compatible with both Elastic Data and traditional storage configurations, providing flexibility for a range of use cases.
-
Data Connector Documentation and Downloads Migration – We have moved connector documentation from the Delphix Continuous Data to the Delphix Ecosystem documentation site. This shift will enable us to version our connector documentation independently of engine releases. To match, connector downloads will move within the Delphix Downloads Portal's Ecosystem section.
November Product Version Releases
Cadence and Version Changes
Based on feedback from our customers, Delphix will return to a bi-monthly release schedule for Continuous Data, Continuous Compliance, and Data Control Tower starting in November 2024. Following that, the next release will be in January 2025 with subsequent releases every 2 months.
Starting in January, the version naming will follow a new format: YYYY.R.M.P (Year.Release.Maintenance). For example, the January release will be 2025.1.0.0, and March will be 2025.2.0.0. Hyperscale Compliance will continue with monthly releases but adopt the new naming scheme.
Docker Compose End of Support Update
Earlier this year, we announced the end of support for Docker Compose deployments of Data Control Tower (DCT) and Hyperscale Compliance, initially set for January 2025. To provide our customers with additional time to transition to supported deployment options, we are extending this deadline to January 2026. DCT has both Kubernetes and VM appliance deployment options available now. The Hyperscale Compliance primary deployment option is Kubernetes, and we are planning to introduce a VM Appliance in the future.
