Hi Johnston, The above steps are supported, they came from Engineering for another customer. Thanks

Yes,
- Deploy the HWv8 VM as normal
- Right click on the VM in the vSphere client and click "Upgrade Virtual Hardware" to version 10
- Start the VM and do everything else as normal

It works fine on my environment, following the steps that Ron said. But, I am not sure if it v10 hardware is actually internally tested and designated as a "supported configuration" by Delphix Support. You might want to file a ticket to be sure.
