    Hi,

i have provisioned one VDB successfully and am able to connect to it.

Now i tries to create a second VDB but get the error:
    Failed to mount database instance.

    What am i doing wrong?

    This one is working fine

    Hi Per,

The Landshark environment ships with Oracle XE. There is a limitation with XE in that you can only have one running instance on a host at a given time. In order to provision a second VDB you first need to stop the existing VDB.  Let me know if this works.

    Thanks,
    Leighton

That error suggests that the you're using Oracle XE which only allows one running instance. You might try stopping the existing vDB prior to provisioning another.

For triple redundancy, XE limits you to one instance. You can follow the landshark docs to install Oracle 11 or 12, if you like.

    Hi,

    thanks for quick answers!

After Shutting down the old VDB and deleting the bad VDB i provisioned a new and every thing when well.

Thou, i have made shanges in the source Schema, but the new records i added to the table in source did not end up in the new VDB.

Do i need to do something special after editing data in source so it will end up in the VDB?
Do i need to take a snapshot of the source after editing it? How?

    Saw the source was disabled

click the enable icon on the Employee XE DB, then Delphix should read all the transactions since the last sync. If it doesn't show up, click the camera icon. Then refresh the virtual database

    OK,

Should the X on the data source name be there?
It looks like something is wrong with the data source....

    Cheers,

that text means that Delphix isn't connected to the source. If it doesn't resolve after a couple of minutes, refresh your environment in the environments section

I refreshed the environment, but the X is still there.

Is the source database still up? Has the IP of that system changed?

    Yes it is up.

And the IP is same 10.0.1.128 (As it says in the environment section, for LinuxSOURCE)

I can access it and write to it.

then that is odd. To be sure, have you tried refreshing your browser? The connection should be active
