Tip of the Day: Using Quotas

Using Quotas is a great way to help manage resources of your Delphix Engine, however please be careful. As a group or VDB approaches the quota level, snapshots may fail and logs may not be captured, causing LogSync to fail. Similarly, setting a reservation can put the Delphix Engine into a low space condition even if the space is not used. In either case, if logs cannot be written to snapshots due to quotas, or a low space condition arises, the Delphix Engine will halt.

To Set a Quota/Reservation:

  1. Log into the Delphix Admin application with delphix_admin credentials.

  2. Select Resources > Capacity.

  3. Click in the Quotas or Reservation column next to the group or object for which you want to set a quota or reservation.

  4. Enter the amount of storage space you want to allocate for a quota or reservation, then click outside the column again to set the amount.
