DCT connects to engines over HTTPs, and thus normally requires TLS certificates to be configured on the engine. If you are using private IP addresses only, and have not configured TLS certificates on the engine, you may select the "Insecure SSL" and "Unsafe hostname check" options when connecting an engine, which will allow these engines to be registered at the cost of preventing DCT from detecting man-in-the-middle attacks.

A connection time out errors usuall indicates that a firewall is preventing DCT from connecting to the engine over HTTPs (TCP on port 443). Do you have a firewall between the server or cluster hosting DCT and the engines you are trying to connect?
