From the wiki https://github.com/delphix/dxm-toolkit/wiki you could run something like dxmc environment list
eg:
dxmc environment list
Engine name Environment name Application name
============================== ============================== ==============================
testeng env test 1 test app 2
which would prove that the engines were up and responding to api requests
