  • 1.  What does "Enable Change Data Capture (CDC)" in Provision SQL vDB screen do?

    Hi everyone,

    Recently I have noticed that a new capability is avaliable in Provision SQL vDB screens.

    I have checked the documentation but no explanation there except a link to Microsoft web site.

    Can any of you used this in SQL vDB provision? What does it do? Does it provide a CDC capability between dSource and vDB?

    Hi Rahim,

    CDC allows the capture and record changes made to a SQL database. It records DML operations performed on a source table and then publishes this information to a target table.

    I think delphix added this feature to extend SQL's VDBs capabilities

    Hi @Rahim Cetinel, 

    Thanks for pointing this new feature out. @Moushssine Saidi is correct​ in that, as of 6.0.1, we have introduced the ability to pass CDC data from your source to downstream VDBs. 

    You can find more detail on this with our release notes. ​
